CobraTec FS-3 Medium OTF Knife 3-Inch D2 Tanto Black

The CobraTec FS-3 Medium is a dual-action out-the-front automatic knife configured with a black handle and a plain-edge tanto blade. Its 3-inch blade is made from D2 tool steel, giving this exact variant a practical cutting edge and the reinforced point geometry associated with the tanto profile. The non-serrated edge provides an uninterrupted cutting surface that is straightforward to maintain, while the medium format offers a useful balance between cutting capability and everyday portability. A single control switch powers both deployment and retraction, allowing the blade to extend and return through the front of the handle without requiring a separate closing operation. CobraTec equips its OTF design with an obstruction safety feature that prevents the blade from fully locking open when its path is blocked. If this occurs, the blade can be reset by carefully pulling it into the locked position before normal operation resumes. The black aluminum-alloy handle measures 4.5 inches, and the knife has a published overall length of 8 inches. Textured areas along the handle help provide a secure gripping surface while maintaining the FS-3 series’ streamlined profile. A pocket clip supports convenient carry, and the glass breaker at the end of the handle adds emergency utility without requiring a separate tool. This configuration also includes a nylon sheath, providing another option for protected storage and transport. With its medium dimensions, dual-action mechanism, D2 tanto blade and all-black exterior, this FS-3 is suited to lawful everyday utility, gear collections and outdoor carry where automatic knives are permitted. Owners should follow all applicable laws and regulations governing the possession and carry of automatic knives and should keep the mechanism clean and properly maintained for dependable operation.
