The Tisas 1911A1 Service Special is a faithful reproduction of the US Army issue pistol from WWII. Chambered in .45 ACP, this single-action only pistol features a forged steel frame and slide with a 5" barrel. The ring hammer design replaces the traditional tang hammer, while Series 70 internals ensure reliability. A flat mainspring housing and flared ejection port contribute to its performance. Tisas 1911A1 Service Special
Was looking for a WWII replica to discover that there isn't one anywhere near this price point. Where else can you get a forged pistol with 70 series fire control without paying at least twice the price? This pistol is not as tight on the slide/frame fit as the Duty model but is tighter than a 1980s Colt Government Model I have. The rowel hammer should help with hammer bite as well. It came with a second set of grips and two magazines as well.
Tisas also makes a 1911A1 that is closer to authentic, but I thought this version would be more practical. Fit and finish were also very good. -
Tisas 1911A1 Service Special 45 ACP
Just received mine last week 2/2023 and took it to the range the next day after disassembly and cleaning and oiling. Worked flawlessly with 50 rounds. This is a much nicer piece than the Rock Island as I have one of those too and paid more for it. Better sights, hammer and came if nice case with cleaning rods and two sets of grips and two mags. Owners manual is very good. Would buy again. If I didn't already own (4 ) 1911's. Great value.

Tisas US ARMY 1911
I have an original WW1 /refurbished in WW2 1911 . This is an exact copy except for the commander hammer. This is a very well made pistol. It is tight accurate and the fit and finish is excellent. It is also a great shooter..If you've ever wanted a 1911 ..then don't pass this up. Check several stores for the best FFL transfer fee as everyone charges a different fee.
