The Avery Sporting Dog Boater's Dog Parka is designed for working retrievers that encounter cold water, low temperatures and demanding cover during waterfowl hunts. This exact variant is the extra-large vest in MAX-7 camouflage, sized for a dog with an approximately 19-inch neck and 31-inch chest. Its tapered body is made with 5mm neoprene to help retain the dog's natural warmth after entering the water while providing broad coverage around the torso. A close, properly selected fit also helps the neoprene perform effectively without unnecessarily restricting the dog's movement while running, swimming or climbing onto a stand. The parka incorporates an internal webbing harness that reinforces the body of the vest and supports the integral carry handles positioned along the back. These handles give the handler practical gripping points when helping a retriever over the side of a boat, onto a dog platform or out of difficult cover. The design also provides flotation and a protective layer around the dog's chest and body, making it well suited to repeated retrieves in marshes, flooded timber and other waterfowl environments. A full-length covered zipper provides a secure closure while shielding the zipper area with neoprene. The cold-weather pull is easier to operate when conditions are wet or the handler is wearing gloves, and double-tacked seams add reinforcement at high-stress areas. Because dogs vary considerably in build, the neck and chest should be measured before selecting a vest; the measuring tape should be snug without being tight. Once fitted correctly, this MAX-7 Boater's Dog Parka offers a practical combination of insulation, coverage, handler control and mobility for hunting retrievers working in cold, wet surroundings.
