CobraTec Hornet OTF Knife Purple D2 Plain-Edge Tanto

The CobraTec Hornet is a button-operated out-the-front knife configured with a purple handle and a non-serrated tanto blade made from D2 steel. This exact version is intended as a practical cutting tool for everyday utility work, including opening packages, cutting cord and handling other routine tasks where quick, controlled access to a blade is useful. Its tanto profile provides a defined point and an angular transition along the cutting edge, while the plain-edge configuration offers an uninterrupted sharpened surface rather than a combination of straight and serrated sections. The distinctive purple finish makes this Hornet variant easy to identify among more conventional knife colors. A large operating button serves as the primary control, giving the thumb a substantial contact area when deploying or retracting the blade. Because the blade travels through the front of the handle, the cutting edge remains enclosed when the knife is retracted, keeping the Hornet compact for storage and carry. CobraTec OTF knives incorporate an obstruction safety system designed to prevent the blade from fully deploying when its path is blocked. If that system is activated, the blade can be reset by carefully pulling it into its fully locked position before operating the control again. The Hornet’s D2 steel blade is suited to users who value a straightforward working edge and are prepared to provide normal knife care. Wipe the blade clean after use, keep moisture and debris from accumulating around the front opening, and use the knife as a cutting tool rather than a pry bar or impact implement. With its purple color, plain tanto edge and enlarged operating control, this Hornet offers a clearly defined CobraTec configuration for utility cutting and everyday knife collections. CobraTec also supports its knives with the manufacturer’s lifetime warranty.
