CobraTec Small Black Fang FS-3 Dagger OTF Knife

The CobraTec Small Black Fang FS-3 is a compact out-the-front automatic knife configured with a non-serrated dagger-style blade and a black aluminum-alloy handle. Designed for convenient everyday carry and general cutting work, this smaller FS-3 measures 7 inches overall, combining a 2.75-inch D2 steel blade with a 4.25-inch handle. Its reduced dimensions make it easier to carry than the larger FS-3 configurations while retaining the same practical operating system and recognizable tactical profile. The dual-action mechanism deploys and retracts the blade through the same control switch, allowing the user to operate the knife without manually handling the blade during normal opening and closing. CobraTec also incorporates an obstruction safety feature into its OTF mechanism. If the blade encounters an object while deploying, it does not lock fully into the extended position; the blade can then be pulled forward to reset the mechanism before normal operation resumes. The high-grade aluminum-alloy handle provides a rigid housing for the mechanism and is finished in black to match the Black Fang configuration. A pocket clip supports convenient carry, while the integrated glass breaker adds an emergency-use feature at the end of the handle. CobraTec includes a nylon sheath for an alternative way to store or transport the knife when pocket carry is not preferred. At a published weight of 4.5 ounces, the Small Black Fang FS-3 has a substantial feel without the bulk of the medium and large models. This exact configuration uses the plain-edge dagger blade option rather than a serrated blade, making it suitable for users who prefer uninterrupted cutting edges that are straightforward to maintain. The combination of compact sizing, powered deployment and retraction, D2 blade steel, a black metal handle, pocket clip, glass breaker and included sheath creates a versatile OTF knife for routine utility use where automatic knives may be legally owned and carried.
