The Hornady Shotgun Shell Retriever is a fabric dog-training dummy designed to support retrieving practice on land or in the water. Its distinctive shotgun shell shape and Hornady graphics give the trainer a field-oriented appearance suited to sporting-dog owners, while its practical construction helps handlers work on repeated throws, carries and returns. Built-in flotation inserts allow the retriever to be incorporated into water sessions, expanding training options beyond the yard or field. Balanced weighting supports consistent handling during throws, and the attached durable rope provides the handler with a convenient gripping point when preparing the next retrieve. The main body measures 17 inches long by 3 inches wide by 3 inches deep, providing an elongated form that a dog can grasp and carry during training exercises. Durable fabrics form the exterior, while reinforced seams address areas exposed to repeated handling and retrieval. A tear-resistant 3 mm inner lining adds another layer of structure beneath the outer fabric. Rip-stop overstitching reinforces the construction and creates the quilted appearance visible across the body. These construction details make the retriever a practical addition to a sporting-dog training setup without adding complicated components or adjustments. Because it works in both dry and water-based sessions, handlers can use the same familiar training tool while introducing different locations and retrieval conditions. The rope also helps keep hands away from the main retrieval area when picking up or throwing the trainer. This package contains one Hornady Shotgun Shell Retriever in the HSGR20 configuration. It is intended as an interactive retrieval-training product for dogs and provides a recognizable, purpose-built option for owners working on retrieving routines in the field, backyard or water.
