The Molt Gear Ol' River Man is a single-reed acrylic duck call developed for hunters who want a broad range of hen duck sounds from one compact calling platform. This exact variant comes in teal and uses the Ol' River Man short-board, J-frame configuration. Its single-reed design allows the caller to move between clean notes, rich low-end tones and raspier hen vocalizations while retaining the volume needed to reach birds at a distance. The call is suited to working ducks over marshes, flooded fields, timber, ponds and river systems, giving the hunter flexibility as birds change their position or response during an approach. Softer calling can be used when ducks are nearby, while the call's stronger upper range provides additional presence when attention is needed farther from the spread. The Ol' River Man is intended to cover varied hen voices rather than limiting the caller to one narrow pitch or cadence. That range makes it useful for producing greeting calls, feeding chatter, comeback calls and the subtle finishing notes often used as birds close the distance. As with other single-reed calls, control develops through air presentation, tongue position and practice, allowing experienced callers to shape the sound while giving newer users room to build technique. The acrylic body gives this model the crisp response associated with the Ol' River Man platform, and its teal finish makes the exact variant easy to distinguish from the other available color combinations. For a waterfowl hunter building a working call lanyard, this Molt Gear call provides a practical combination of tonal range, rasp and volume in a dedicated mallard-style hen call.
