The Spyderco Native 5 Lightweight Black Blade is a compact folding knife designed for convenient everyday carry and practical cutting work. This exact configuration pairs a black, linerless fiberglass-reinforced nylon handle with a 2.95-inch CPM S30V stainless steel PlainEdge blade. A black diamond-like carbon finish covers the blade, complementing the handle and giving the knife a subdued, coordinated appearance. The blade’s full-flat grind and compact spear-point profile provide useful cutting geometry for opening packages, cutting cord, trimming material and handling other routine outdoor or daily tasks. Its pronounced index-finger choil and textured thumb ramp offer controlled hand placement when detailed cutting requires a shorter, more precise grip. Spyderco’s Trademark Round Hole supports one-handed opening from either side without adding a separate thumb stud. The refined back-lock mechanism secures the blade during use while retaining the straightforward operation associated with a traditional lockback folder. Bi-Directional Texturing molded into the black FRN handle provides traction without the weight of full steel liners, helping keep the complete knife at just 2.5 ounces. The handle measures 4 inches closed, making the knife compact enough for pocket carry while providing an open overall length of 6.95 inches. A four-position hourglass pocket clip can be configured for left- or right-side carry in either tip-up or tip-down orientation, allowing the knife to accommodate a wide range of carry preferences. A generously sized lanyard hole provides another attachment option for a fob, safety line or retention cord. Manufactured in Golden, Colorado, this Native 5 Lightweight combines a corrosion-resistant stainless blade, ambidextrous operation and a low-profile all-black configuration in a capable American-made folding knife.
