The Benchmade SlipRidge Gut Hook is a compact, purpose-built game-processing tool designed for the opening stages of field dressing. Rather than using a primary hunting knife for every step, hunters can use this dedicated hook to open the abdominal cavity during traditional processing or unzip hide along the legs when following a gutless method. Its sharpened interior edge is positioned to cut hide and other fibrous material while helping the user maintain control over the path of the cut. This specialized configuration also keeps the edge of a primary field knife available for skinning, separating joints, trimming and other detailed work. The one-piece tool is made from 440C stainless steel hardened to 58-60 HRC and protected by a Rust Orange Cerakote finish. At 4.82 inches long and weighing only 1.859 ounces, it adds a focused capability to a hunting kit without taking up the space of another full-size knife. The open-frame profile provides a natural gripping area, while textured jimping along the spine offers an additional contact surface for controlled handling. An OD Green Boltaron sheath is included to cover the sharpened hook during transport and storage. The sheath is MOLLE compatible and designed as part of Benchmade’s modular SlipRidge system, allowing it to be carried independently or attached to the sheath system used with the 15650 SlipRidge Fixed Blade. This flexibility makes the hook useful for hunters assembling a complete SlipRidge processing setup as well as those adding a dedicated opening tool to an existing field kit. With its compact single-piece construction, corrosion-resistant steel, protective finish and task-specific cutting geometry, the SlipRidge Gut Hook provides a practical option for controlled opening cuts during big-game processing.
