The Buck 685 BuckLite Max II Large Guthook is a fixed-blade hunting knife designed for field-dressing work where controlled handling and convenient access are important. This large configuration uses a 4-inch 420HC steel blade with an integrated guthook, providing a primary cutting edge for general processing tasks and a dedicated hook for opening hide. The knife measures 8.875 inches overall, with a blade thickness of 0.110 inch, giving it practical full-size dimensions for use around camp or in the field. At approximately 4.7 ounces, it remains light enough to carry as part of a mobile hunting kit without taking up the space or adding the weight of a larger field knife. Its fixed-blade construction eliminates the moving components found on folding knives and keeps the blade ready for use when removed from the sheath. The black Dynaflex rubber handle has a contoured shape that helps the user establish a consistent grip during careful cutting work. Finger contours and a pronounced guard separate the hand from the blade while supporting controlled handling through a variety of field-processing motions. A black, heavy-duty polyester sheath is included to cover the cutting edge during storage and provide a convenient carry option. The knife is manufactured in the USA, while the included sheath is imported. This BuckLite Max II variant is intended for hunters who prefer a purpose-built guthook blade instead of a conventional drop-point-only hunting knife. Its corrosion-resistant 420HC steel, resilient rubber handle, manageable weight, and included sheath make it a practical choice for hunting packs, camp equipment, and seasonal field-processing kits. The straightforward design is easy to carry and keeps the key tools for opening hide and making controlled cuts together in one fixed-blade knife.
