Caldwell AR500 13-Inch Octagon Steel Shooting Target, Yellow

The Caldwell AR500 13-Inch Octagon is a reusable steel shooting target developed for competition practice, firearms training, and recreational range sessions. Its broad octagonal face provides a clearly defined aiming area while adding a different target profile to a steel range setup. The plate measures 13 inches long by 13 inches wide and approximately 0.4 inch deep, giving shooters a substantial target surface that remains practical for use with a compatible support or hanging system. Multiple openings along the upper portion of the plate accommodate the hanging solutions offered for Caldwell’s AR500 target line, allowing the target to be incorporated into a range configuration suited to the available space and intended course of fire. Construction from 3/8-inch through-hardened AR500 steel gives the plate the durability required for repeated shooting when ammunition, distance, mounting angle, and target condition remain within the manufacturer’s guidelines. Caldwell rates this model for impact velocities up to 3,000 feet per second and impact energy up to 3,500 foot-pounds. These figures are impact limits rather than universal ammunition or distance recommendations, so shooters should follow the safety information printed on the target and observe all applicable range rules. A bright yellow powder-coated finish makes the target easier to identify downrange and provides a visible surface for monitoring shot placement and wear. The steel plate produces immediate visual and audible feedback, reducing the need to walk downrange simply to confirm a hit. At 16 pounds, this exact 13-inch model requires a hanging or support arrangement rated for its weight. Inspect the target and mounting equipment before each session, discontinue use if the plate becomes cratered or damaged, and always wear appropriate eye and hearing protection. This product consists of the Caldwell AR500 octagon target plate in the yellow configuration shown.
