Caldwell AR500 66% IPSC Steel Target 20 x 12 Inch Yellow

The Caldwell AR500 66% IPSC Steel Target is a reusable silhouette plate designed for competition practice, structured training drills and recreational range sessions. This exact version uses a reduced 66% IPSC profile that measures 20 inches long by 12 inches wide, providing a practical target presentation while requiring less space and weighing less than a full-size silhouette. Its bright yellow powder-coated surface stands out clearly against typical range backgrounds, helping shooters identify the plate at distance and quickly establish a sight picture. Constructed from 3/8-inch through-hardened AR500 steel, the target is engineered for repeated impacts when it is installed and used according to Caldwell’s ammunition, distance and mounting guidelines. Caldwell rates the plate for impact velocities up to 3,000 feet per second and impact energy up to 3,500 foot-pounds, making it useful for a variety of properly managed handgun and rifle practice applications within those limits. The silhouette incorporates three mounting slots across the upper portion of the plate, allowing it to work with different compatible hanging arrangements and giving range builders flexibility when assembling a target station. Hanging components and the supporting target structure should be selected and positioned to permit safe target movement and bullet-fragment deflection. This item consists of the yellow 66% IPSC target plate rather than a complete freestanding target system, so compatible mounting equipment may be required for the intended range setup. At approximately 21 pounds, the plate has enough mass for a stable shooting presentation while remaining more manageable to transport and arrange than Caldwell’s full-size IPSC version. Its recognizable silhouette, visible finish and hardened-steel construction make it a practical choice for shooters building a durable practice course or adding a reusable steel plate to an established range.
