The Helle Kletten is a compact folding knife designed for everyday carry, detailed outdoor cutting tasks and light woodwork where a full-size field knife would be unnecessary. Its 55 mm, or approximately 2.17-inch, blade is made from Helle’s triple-laminated stainless steel, combining a hard cutting core with protective outer layers for a practical balance of edge performance and durability. The blade is 2.7 mm thick and folds into an 80 mm, or approximately 3.15-inch, handle, giving the knife a pocket-friendly format that remains substantial enough for controlled carving, package opening, cord cutting and other routine camp or daily chores. A traditional nail nick supports deliberate two-handed opening, while the lockback mechanism holds the blade securely in its working position. The handle uses natural curly birch scales reinforced by stainless steel liners. Because curly birch is a natural material, its figure and coloration give each knife an individual appearance. Helle shaped the handle with a forward finger guard and contoured profile to provide a secure three-finger grip despite the Kletten’s small dimensions. A lanyard hole at the rear offers another carry or handling option without adding a pocket clip to the clean, traditional design. At only 84 grams, the Kletten is easy to carry in a pocket or pack while retaining the sturdy construction expected from a working folding knife. Its combination of Scandinavian styling, natural wood and compact proportions makes it equally suitable as a refined everyday pocket knife or a lightweight companion for hiking, camping and careful bushcraft tasks. The Kletten is manufactured in Helle’s factory in Holmedal, Norway, continuing the company’s established approach to handcrafted outdoor knives and naturally varied wooden handles.
