The Area 419 Remington 700 Long Action Improved Scope Rail provides a precisely machined foundation for installing a Picatinny-compatible optic mount on a Remington 700 long-action receiver. This exact version combines a 20 MOA cant with Area 419’s Full Slotted configuration, making the entire top surface usable with Picatinny scope rings and mounts, including designs that place a recoil lug near the center of the mount. The rail is machined in-house from 7075 aluminum and finished with a black Type III hardcoat anodizing treatment. Its MIL-STD-1913 profile provides a standardized mounting interface, while radiused slot edges, rounded corners and carefully chamfered transitions reduce sharp or snag-prone areas. An integral recoil lug bears against the front receiver ring to help prevent the base from shifting under recoil rather than relying solely on the mounting screws. The mating surfaces are machined to follow the Remington action profile for a secure, consistent fit, and the ejection-port cut is shaped to blend with the receiver while leaving clearance for top loading on ADL-style rifles. Compatibility with both #6-48 and #8-40 receiver holes allows installation without modifying the base. Four screws of each thread size are supplied, along with a T10 Torx wrench, so the installer can select the hardware that matches the receiver. The equal-length screws are sized to avoid interference with barrel threads. Area 419 specifies 15 inch-pounds of torque for the #6 screws and 20 inch-pounds for the #8 screws.
